The Brahms-Portal

New Online Platform on Life and Work

Starting August 1, 2025, the Brahms Portal will offer an innovative digital gateway to the world’s unique collection held by the Brahms Institute at the Lübeck University of Music. Over 10,000 digitized items – including autographs, letters, photographs, and first editions – are semantically linked to the musical works of Johannes Brahms.

The portal is aimed at researchers, musicians, and anyone interested in exploring Brahms’s life and work. All content is recorded according to FAIR principles, openly accessible, and sustainably usable.

Whether you're conducting in-depth research or browsing out of curiosity, the Brahms Portal brings the composer’s world to life in a truly engaging and innovative way.
