Events at the Brahms-Institute

Concerts | Thematic Evenings | Lectures | Podium Discussions

With Hansensaal, Villa Brahms offers a stylish framework for concerts, thematic evenings, lectures, and presentations. Our diverse concert series showcase the fertile exchange and creative interaction between musical research and artistic practice that characterizes the close relationship between Brahms-Institut and Musikhochschule Lübeck.

Among the highlights each year, each May Brahms-Festival is held at the music academy, during which Villa Brahms presents hosted concerts. In the monthly concert series »Musik im Museum« (»Music at the Museum«), outstanding students from Musikhochschule Lübeck showcase their abilities. An additional format places a focus on dialogue: »Zu Gast bei Brahms« (»Hosted by Brahms«) is an irregular series of events featuring personalities from the world of music, who offer insights into their musical careers in conversation with Wolfgang Sandberger. The »Brahms Cafes« in July and August offer a summerly musical program with coffee and cake in the glorious Eschenburg Park. In December, »Weihnachten mit Brahms«Christmas with Brahms«), featuring music and readings, contributes to a festive Christmas season.

You can reach Villa Brahms via the bus lines 8, 15, 31 and 32 stopping at Adolfstraße (about 2 minutes walking distance) and all bus lines stopping at Gustav-Radbruch-Platz (about 7 minutes walking distance). Parking is available near the Villa.

The event spaces and museum are accessible to the handicapped.
