Teresa Cäcilia Ramming studied Musicology, German Literature and Comparative Literature at the University of Zurich. Her interdisciplinary Master's thesis, 'Die Musik in Simone de' Prodenzani's Il Saporetto', won the University of Zurich's semester prize.
From 2018 to 2021, she undertook an internship at the Brahms Institute as part of the "Lübeck Model" of the Centre for Cultural Studies Research Lübeck (ZKFL). During this time, she curated the exhibition "a BRIEF history" (in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Sandberger), among other projects. In 2023, she received her doctorate for a thesis on Max Kalbeck's monumental biography of Johannes Brahms, which is to be published by Böhlau in Vienna.
From August 2022 to August 2025, she worked as a research project coordinator for the major "Brahms Portal" project, which was funded by the state of Schleswig-Holstein and the Possehl Foundation. Since August 2025, she has been the acting managing director of the Brahms Institute and consultant to the president of the MHL. Since 2020, she has held various teaching positions in musicology at the Lübeck University of Music.
